Our client, a PE-backed technology business, is looking for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join their London team. The successful candidate will have experience in an accounts receivable role and be confident in dealing with a high volume of data with strong attention to detail.

Description

The responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Assistant include, but are not limited to:

  • Process and apply incoming payments accurately and promptly.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of customer accounts.
  • Proactively manage and follow up on outstanding customer debts.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and disputes.
  • Flag high-risk accounts or behavioural changes to the manager and assess if escalation for bad debts is needed.
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders regarding invoice queries.
  • Monitor and respond to emails in the shared credit control inbox and support the wider function with escalated issues.
  • Generate and issue accurate customer invoices in accordance with agreed billing cycles.
  • Ensure billing aligns with contractual terms, pricing, and service usage.
  • Maintain billing records and audit trails to support compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Amend or customise invoices and payroll report as per client or internal team requests.
  • Generate reports and summaries as needed to support AR performance and audits.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Skills

The skills of the Accounts Receivable Assistant include, but are not limited to:

  • Previous experience in an accounts receivable role with an understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience using NetSuite and strong Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence in client-facing interactions.
  • Ability to work with a high volume of data with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Confident in working independently, meeting deadlines and dealing with shifting priorities.
