Description

We are seeking an experienced finance leader to join a listed multinational consumer business as Group Financial Controller, reporting directly to the Group CFO and acting as a key member of wider Leadership Team. This high-profile role will take ownership of all aspects of finance, including group reporting, FP&A activities, statutory compliance, governance, risk and controls, tax and treasury. The Group Financial Controller will ensure the delivery of timely, accurate and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making.

The successful candidate will lead the preparation of consolidated IFRS reporting, overseeing year-end reporting, manage the external audit process and ensure compliance with other regulatory requirements. There is significant scope to drive improvements in reporting, controls, systems and finance processes across the Group, while providing commercial and strategic support through planning and analysis along with due diligence on M&A targets and the integration of any acquired businesses.

This role requires a strong leader with experience in an international organisation, capable of building effective relationships across regional finance teams, leading finance transformation initiatives and managing a direct team of senior finance professionals. It represents an excellent opportunity to influence both operational and strategic outcomes within a growing global business.

Skills

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant experience operating within an international environment. You will possess strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS, UK GAAP and complex group consolidations across multi-entity and multi-currency structures. Experience overseeing external reporting, statutory compliance, tax and treasury activities will be essential.

You will be a highly organised and detail-oriented finance leader with a strong focus on financial reporting as well as continuous improvement. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, you will have a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, auditors and external advisors, and communicate financial information clearly to executive and board-level audiences. Experience with ERP systems will be advantageous, especially involvement in a systems implementation project.
