Our client is a high-growth Canadian listed renewable energy developer with a strong pipeline of projects focused on the renewable energy transition. The first asset sold produced a 10x return on investment and they have entered Definitive Agreements for 5 further projects as they reach their development over the next 18 months. Continuing this growth internationally, they now have assets in the US, UK, Canada and Europe, which has created the need to recruit a new Controller role in their London office.
Description
To support the growth of the business, the team is looking to hire a recently qualified accountant, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer with significant exposure to the CEO/Founder. This role will offer broad financial exposure across the business at a key period of growth. The position will work closely with the CFO to ensure that all financial reporting is completed efficiently, as well as monitoring cashflow and assisting the CFO with project financing. The role will provide invaluable experience working in a fast-paced start-up/scale-up environment in a market that is attracting huge amounts of investment, driven by the global need to address climate change.
Skills
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (CPA/ACA/CA or equivalent), with experience working with Canadian listed businesses. This individual will have hands-on experience with reporting requirements for listed businesses, within a finance function or working in audit or reporting within an accounting practice firm. You will need strong technical accounting skills coupled with a passion for growing and developing a business as a key member of the finance team.
