Financial Controller

Description

We are now seeking a strong individual to support the Finance Director and manage the running of a robust finance department that delivers strong financial information. The role will require you to show strong leadership and motivational skills to effectively manage and develop a small team.

You will be responsible for timely, robust, and accurate delivery of internal and external reporting as well as maintaining and evolving a strong control environment to cope with an ever-changing business. You will oversee the preparation of the monthly management accounts ensuring timely, accurate delivery of results and be tasked with providing insightful analysis of the results.

You will have responsibility for ensuring accurate delivery of key management reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and be the key point of contact for questions from the individual sites. In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will provide ad-hoc support on projects for the Finance Director and senior management team and will business partner with budget holders to help them set targets and monitor performance.

Skills

The successful candidate should be qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) with intellectual curiosity and ideally significant commercial experience. A very sound working knowledge of UK accounting standards would be ideal as is experience of working in a multi-site business with remote sites, close to day-to-day operations. You will need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and possess a real "can do, can change” approach.
