The business continues to rapidly change, as does the global finance community, and as a result, an exciting opportunity has become available to recruit a new Associate Director as Regional Head of Financial Accounting for the UKIMEA & Europe region. Reporting to the Group Head of Financial Accounting and managing and leading an experienced team, the Regional Head of Financial Accounting will be responsible for leading on the statutory accounting preparation of the operating entities in the UKIMEA and Europe Regions, including consolidations and some non-operating group entities, leading the technical accounting team based in the UK and managing the relationships and delivery of financial statements with the individuals in blended roles in IMEA and Europe.  In addition, you will be the “technical expert” in this region, advising on best practices, ensuring the business meets all regulatory requirements and maintaining consistent application of accounting policies and standards. You will manage the annual financial audits and act as a key contact with the company's group auditors and the external audit teams outside the UK. As part of the role, you will be responsible for supporting the finance transformation program in implementing best-in-class processes and financial controls and delivering interim reporting.

Skills

The ideal candidate will be a graduate accountant, ideally with an ACA qualification or equivalent.  You will ideally have professional services experience and be familiar with WIP accounting on long term projects. You will have technical experience in end-to-end external reporting, finance, and statutory accounting environments.  You will have good knowledge of other finance areas, such as FP&A and Management Accounting, and have significant working knowledge of Finance systems that support reporting and accounting processes. It is essential that you have led and managed teams, have proven leadership and motivational skills, and possess the ability to listen, demonstrate empathy and remain calm when under pressure. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable managing both internal and external stakeholders.  Computer literacy in MS Office, including deep experience in Excel and Word, is essential, and knowledge of ERP solutions, e.g. SAP/Oracle/JDE and/or SAAS applications, would be advantageous but not a prerequisite.
