Walker Hamill is always looking for strong assistant accountants who have previous accounting experience and are available to start within two weeks. Suitable candidates will have at least a year of practical experience and be looking for a role in line with their accounting qualification. We have a broad client base ranging from FTSE 100/250 blue chip organisations to private equity-backed SME's, spanning across various sectors.
Description
The duties and responsibilities for a typical Assistant Account role include (but are not limited to):
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Month-end close including accruals and prepayments.
- Multi-currency bank reconciliations.
- Assist with annual budget and forecasting process.
- Supporting the financial operations of the business and cover a wide range of range of responsibilities, including FP&A, financial reporting, and treasury.
Skills
The skills required for a typical Assistant Accountant role include (but are not limited to):
- At least one year's practical experience.
- Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong Excel skills and a high level of computer literacy.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills with an analytical mindset.
- Ability to quickly grasp new technical and business knowledge.
