Our client is a market leading Private Equity backed business with revenues in excess of £300m generated in the UK and Europe. The company has developed extremely strong relationships with a core client base, making it the “go to” provider to most leading companies in its sector. There is considerable scope to drive margin improvement across the business, as well as a unique opportunity to create significant value by moving to a subscription-based model.

Description

This new role has been created to business partner closely with the COO and Commercial Director, providing crucial analysis to drive both operational and commercial efficiencies, maximising profitability and generating cost savings throughout the business. The position looks across the whole operational process, reviewing costs and KPIs to improve operational efficiencies and to provide financial insights and recommendations. The Comercial Finance Analyst will partner the COO to analyse and review warehousing and logistics costs, deep diving into any operational inefficiencies, reviewing these with the business to drive improvements. The role will also partner the Commercial Director to drive robust decision making and output in the procurement function, advising on buying, inventory control and stock cycle efficiencies as well as supplier rebate negotiations and the financial impact of promotional activities. This will also involve leading a business review with senior leadership on the stock mix and levels, buying forecasts and customer backorders, and generating key insights and recommendations to the business to maximise profitability and customer satisfaction.

Skills

Applicants should be qualified accountants, with strong analytical and financial modelling skills and proven experience providing commercial finance support to across a supply chain. Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, as is the ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasked and multi-channel environment. The role requires a natural influencer who is down to earth, open, energetic and enthusiastic, and is able to build strong relationships across a business at all levels. Experience working with business models such as wholesale, retail or FMCG will be highly advantageous, although this is not a pre-requisite.
