Our client is a global pharma business which due to natural progression now requires a new Senior Accountant in its UK&I Controllership team. Based in the central London office, the successful candidate will report directly to the FD.
Description
This role reports to the Finance Director of UK&I and is involved in all areas of operational finance. It requires multi-tasking and prioritizing across a broad range of responsibilities and managing multiple stakeholders. It is anticipated that approximately three-quarters of time will be spent ensuring all monthly, quarterly and annual finance processes are completed efficiently, and the remainder will be spent on continuous improvement and change management, including systems implementation. Core responsibilities will include building strong relationships in Finance and more widely across the business, to ensure the delivery of objectives; preparing statutory reporting and VAT returns; playing a key role in the co-ordination of internal and external audits; supporting the implementation of a new ERP system; and participation in local and global cross-functional projects.
Skills
The successful candidate will be a newly or recently qualified ACA (or equivalent), ideally with pharma sector experience. Strong technical accounting knowledge of both UK and US GAAP, as well as knowledge of UK taxation, would be helpful but not essential. More important is a capacity to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously combined with a drive to learn and improve.
