Our client is a global pharma business that, due to natural progression, now requires a new Associate Director in its UK&I Controllership team. Based in the central London office, the successful candidate will report directly to the Director of UK Controllership and support her in managing the team.
Description
This role reports to the Director of UK Controllership and will support her in the management of the team. Core responsibilities will include internal and statutory reporting, tax, internal and external audit, process governance, and process improvement. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure policy compliance, support the month-end process, ensure appropriate revenue recognition policies, and support tax compliance. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to support the ongoing implementation of a new ERP system and act as a local finance lead in a range of cross-finance and cross-functional projects. You will also be expected to help drive process improvement.
Skills
The successful candidate will be a chartered accountant (ACA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience, have excellent academics and communication skills, and possess strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP. The ideal candidate will also have had considerable exposure to the pharma, biotech, or FMCG sectors, experience of UK taxation, and some exposure to US GAAP. Most important is a excellent organisational and problem-solving skills and the drive to work independently and sometimes for multiple stakeholders. Line management experience and some understanding of Oracle, SAP, or similar systems would be useful.
