Our client is a major business unit within a €900m revenues Division of a large and diversified international Group. The business unit contributes over €500m of Divisional revenues and has achieved significant growth in recent years through a combination of organic and acquisitive growth.
Description
Reporting to the business unit CFO, this is a pivotal position within the organisation. The Financial Controller will be responsible for the management of four business lines each with a dedicated Finance Business Partner. The Controller will ensure both the timely and accurate production of reports, while also assisting the business units to drive performance and deliver on their revenue and profit targets.
Commercially experienced and technically strong, the successful candidate will combine the ability to lead a team and act as a business partner to the CFO. The capability to work independently is essential, challenging the management teams across the four business lines on behalf of the CFO.
The FC will also have ownership of a shared transactional finance team, with oversight of all aspects of working capital.
This newly created position will provide professional leadership across the business and is seen as long-term succession planning for the CFO. As such, candidates must be able to drive the transformation of finance across the business unit as it matures, allowing checks and balances to remain strong while simultaneously promoting growth.
Skills
Candidates will be qualified accountants (ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent) with relevant financial and operational experience, ideally gained in an analogous B2B industry, with a low-margin businesses of relevant scale with a large headcount, dispersed operational footprint and operating at low-margins . This would include, but would not be limited to sectors such as business process outsourcing, distribution, retail and business services more generally.
