Our client, a leading global architecture firm, is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager and supporting the Management Accountant, the successful candidate is likely to be at the early stages of their accounting qualification and have previous relevant experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build on their experience whilst working as part of a high-profile team in a dynamic and growing business.
Description
- Partnering with Project Managers and various other non-finance teams, being the finance interface.
- Processing supplier invoices – ensuring accurate entry in Xero and filed, tagging supplier invoices that are project related, and being able to identify if any are intercompany or personal in nature.
- Posting company credit card transactions, chasing for missing receipts, and monthly reconciliation of company credit card transactions.
- Review and posting of staff expenditure claims.
- Petty cash reconciliation and posting.
- Assist in the preparation of rechargeable project-related travel expenses to be invoiced to clients.
- Reconciling supplier statements ensuring missing invoices are requested and queries resolved.
- Fortnightly payment run - assist in preparing both local and international payments in Natwest business banking and posting payments in Xero.
Skills
- Working towards accounting qualification with minimum 1 year's accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Xero software is desirable.
- Good knowledge of Excel.
- Must be able to work independently but also a team player with a can-do attitude and confidence.
- Team player – maintain close working relationships within the team as well as other departments to achieve goals.
- Resourceful and innovative thinker, and adaptable to change.
